Convention 2017 held in Estevan

The annual convention and AGM of the Sask Auctioneers Association was held on February 8 and 9, 2017 at the Day’s Inn in Estevan, SK. The convention kicked off with the Western Producer breakfast at 9:00 am on Thursday, February 9, 2017. The AGM began at 11:00 am, with the CJWW luncheon at noon. Professional Development at 1:30 included a discussion with Eric Greene of Consumer Protection, Dennis Biliske of Biliske Auctions in North Dakota, and Jon Gillies of Images by Gillies Photography. All of the presenters were very well received, and their messages were helpful in the delegate’s auction businesses. Plans are to re-invite Jon Gillies to another convention, for a longer session on the photography of items for auction advertising.

New board members Riley McChesney of Regina, and Terry McDougall of Saskatoon were welcomed. Appointed to the Board of Trustees for a three year term were Barrie Jung of Melfort and Ross Taylor of Reston, Manitoba. We look forward to working with these gentlemen. The new executive for 2017 is President: Brad Stenberg, Vice-President: Tim Palmer, and Treasurer: Riley McChesney. Please refer to the board members page of this website if you’d like to contact any of its members.

Social hour began at 5:30 pm, followed by the banquet sponsored by 620 CKRM and GX94 Radio. Presentations and a successful fund raiser auction completed the day.
